Limestone County Spelling bee
(News Courier/Kim West, Jan. 27, 2014) — Sixteen students competed at the Limestone County Spelling Bee at Clements High School. The bee went eight rounds, with East Limestone seventh-grader Bernard Allotey, 12, correctly spelling the final word — "affinity" — to win the bee for the second time in four years. Athens Bible School sixth-grader Macy Dobbs, 11, finished as runner-up.
